I made a extra project which is obviously seen as a plate. It's like an inch high off the ground but is 6 inches in diameter. I glazed it chrome green because I really like that forest-look it gives you. I learned how to make a plate in order to make this haha. My projects shape is obviously round and you can see all of the individual lines on the surface of the plate. The emphasis of this project is the plate overall round shape because you See how each Line and part of plate was pulled out to get it wider. I always wanted to make a plate and I finally did even though it's just a mediocre one.

For my second theme project I made a cylinder that is 2 inches wide and 4 inches tall. In order to make this texture I placed the cylinder on the wheel and used the pin tool to make this texture. I glazed it by dipping it in black the taking it all off with the sponge so only black could be seen in the texture then covered it with specked ivory. I worked on my texture making skills while making this project. The texture is pretty obvious once again due to its rough texture across the whole project. It also shows a pattern of the same texture throughout the piece making it look like it will continue the entire time. This is a project I admire because I like the texture and love the speckled ivory glaze.
For my theme project I chose to base my theme on texture because I have always been interested in projects like that. I made a bowl for my first one and used a wooden tool to create scratches in the sides to give it a texture that you could see and feel while using your eyes and hands on the bowl. I learned how to create a patterned texture on bowls in order to create this. Texture is obviously my art element for it's clearly visible and touchable reasons. But it also shows pattern because the texture is in a pattern and not just everywhere on the project. Theme projects are now my favorite projects to make because you can do all sorts of textures on them that give them their own unique personalities.
For my altered project I made a basic bowl then pushed in the top on four sides to make it look a little different and to actually alter it. It is 4 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter in the longest spot and 2 in shortest. I glazed it all black the painted on areas with white glaze to give it the cool blue, crackled effect. I learned how to alter my projects with my hands after pulling them on the wheel while making this peice. My projects form has been changed slightly to create a different form within the peice. This bowl shows emphasis on the top because it was changed or altered to be different than the ordinary bowl we see every day. This project was very interesting and a lot easier than I thought it was actually going to be.
This is my very tall project that took a while for me to make. It stands 8 inches high with a width of 3 1/2 inches. This is just your basic cylinder that was pulled as high as I could go. I glazed it by dipping it in the speckled ivory, which is my new favorite glaze by the way. I love the yellowish background with the little dots that it has. While making this talk project I learned how to pull projects even taller by using help from the rib tool to keep the sides even and looking good. The color in this cylinder allows you to see the lines on the project that go around all the around it on the inside and outside. I feel like the color really emphasizes the structure of the cylinder because it is a very nice glaze but it isn't so crazy that your eye focuses on it, it rather focuses on the shape and form of the project itself. I'm a fan of this peice for its cool glaze and how big it is for a project of my own.
This is my teams (Logan, Kajai, and I) frankenpot pot. I made the top peice, Logan made the base, and Kajai made the middle connecter piece. Then I attached all of the pieces to each other. After I handed it off to Logan and Kajai who decided to make it interesting by adding holes to it. Then we glazed and it then this is our outcome. I'm very fond of this project because of it shows a lot of character and doesn't look like a regular frankenpot.
My fourth bowl is very similar to my second as it stands 1 1/2 inches tall and 4 inches wide. Its texture is very grainy and it is quite noticeable. The glaze, which was the green and chrome, didn't stay on that well so it's a very see through project meaning you can see the bisqued part still. I learned how using the rib tool can greatly improve the walls of my bowls. This bowl easily shows a grainy texture just from looking at it. I believe the greenish color harmonizes well with its texture because I feel like that texture looks good with that type of color. This bowl is kind of nice in way meaning it looks like I would use this to hold salsa to dip my chips into. That kind of nice.
I have finished my lidded project and I'm not as pleased as I thought it would be. It is 3 inches tall and 4 inches wide. The lid has a very grainy texture while the base peice is very smooth. I glazed the lid in shadow green but it must have been a very thin glaze or watery because it didn't come out very thick. For the cylinder base peice I glazed it all black then painted on white glaze on a side to get the bluish effect it gives off. I learned how to make sure the lid fits into the cylinder or base in order to make this project. The lidded project shows value through its light green and darker blackish colors. This also shows contrast for the same reasons being the two very different colors working together on the same project. I'm not as pleased with this as I was hoping but I still enjoyed making it because it was a challenge for me.
My planter stands 4 inches high and has a base of 5 inches. I threw a bunch of glazes such turquoise, blue, and green on the project then topped it off with a clear glaze to make it smooth. I learned how to foot a planter while making this guy because I never knew how to before. The planter shows value threw all of its many colors scattered throughout its body. All of these colors on the project unite together because they look good with each other. I like how this planter looks like it got shot up by a paintball gun which is why I made it like I did.
